Michael H. James
Mike is recognized for his litigation skills and experience in state and federal courts where he has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of disputes in both the prosecution and defense of claims.
Mike served as the Mayor of the City of Ferguson, Missouri from 1993-1996. During his term, the City completed a review and revision of the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan, passed a Capital Improvement sales tax to fund infrastructure investment, hosted the nationally recognized Oak Park Exchange Congress and began the successful redevelopment of one of the City’s major commercial and retail areas through the use of Tax Increment Financing.
Prior to his service as Mayor, Mike served as a representative to the City Council on the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. James is a past President of the St. Louis County Bar Association, is a recipient of the Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer Award and has served in the past on the legislative review subcommittee of The Missouri Bar.
Mike currently serves on the Board of the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce, is Chair of the Chamber’s President’s Council, and serves on the Industrial Development Authority and Tax Increment Finance Commission of the City of Maryland Heights, Missouri.
Charles A. James
Chuck focuses his practice on individuals and small businesses, providing advice and services on business, real estate, tax, estate planning, and contract issues. Chuck spends over half of his time working with clients to plan their estates while avoiding probate and minimizing estate and income taxes.
Chuck served as Chairman of the SSM DePaul Health Center Foundation and Chairman of the Board of the Ferguson Special District. He has also served on the Board of Directors of North County Incorporated and Chairman of the Ferguson Charter Commission (two terms).
Chuck is a graduate of St. Louis University High School (’73), Rockhurst College (’77) and the University of Missouri Kansas City Law School (’80). Chuck is married (Mariann) and has four daughters (Sarah, Anna, Theresa and Mary Elizabeth).
Thomas F. Hutchison
Tom practices in the areas of real estate, business law, estate planning, and probate and trust administration. Tom has lectured frequently on estate planning and business succession planning. Tom provides advice and counsel to individuals and to businesses. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas.
David W. Forth
David is a skilled litigator whose work benefits financial institutions, property managers, business clients, insurance companies and individuals. He has successfully tried dozens of cases and represented clients in the state, federal and bankruptcy courts throughout Missouri and Illinois.
He handles general business and commercial litigation in areas such as creditor’s rights, banking and lending, landlord/tenant (commercial and residential), contracts, bankruptcy, real estate, construction and lien law. David also previously served as a Congressional Staff Assistant to former U.S. Representative James M. Talent.
David is active in local political and community organizations, and enjoys home improvement projects and spending time with his wife Nancy and their children Audrey, Katie and Thomas.
